On a mission to make beautiful homes feel grounded.

I'm Maya.

I grew up in a home where everything had a story - the seagrass basket my Oma wove, the wooden tray that held our morning coffee, the lamp that made evenings feel soft and safe. It's a Dutch thing - we call it gezellig. There's no perfect translation, but it means warm, cozy, and beautifully together.

When I moved to the US, I brought that feeling with me, but I couldn't find it. Everything was either fast, plastic, and soulless, or beautiful but $400.

So I started Huiz & Ground.

Huiz is huis - house in Dutch. And Ground is what we all crave - to feel rooted, calm, and at home.

Every piece in this shop is one I have in my own home. Natural materials, timeless designs, easy to live with. Because your home should be as beautiful as you are, and it should last.

Welkom.
